MMDA Bans Armored Vans from Yellow Lanes

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Sunday reiterated that the yellow lanes on EDSA (Epifanio delos Santos Avenue) are off-limits to armored vans which carry cash from banks or other establishments.
MMDA Chair Bayani Fernando said that drivers of armored vehicles were among the most frequent violators of traffic rules, often citing security as an excuse. Read more
MMDA Warns Drivers Against Swerving on EDSA

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) cautioned motorists yesterday against swerving along EDSA, a violation that can cost them a maximum fine of P2,000.
Agency officials issued the warning after receiving information from the field about repeated incidents of irresponsible or reckless changing of lanes along EDSA. Read more
MMDA: U-turn Slot Speeds up C-5 Road Travel by 90%

The traffic flow along C-5/Kalayaan Road has shown dramatic improvement over the past two weeks due to an elevated U-turn slot in the area, Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) officials said.
MMDA officials said travel speed from Lawton, Manila to Buting, Pasig has reportedly increased from 17.93 to 34.14 kilometers per hour (kph), reflecting a 90 percent improvement in travel time.
From Pasig to Manila, travel also became faster by 14 percent, with a speed from 19.45 kph to 22.14 kph due to the project, they said. Read more
Motorists Advised to Avoid C-5-Kalayaan Intersection

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has advised motorists to avoid the southern portion of the C-5- Kalayaan Avenue intersection in Makati City where an elevated U-turn roadway is being constructed, with completion expected in three months.
MMDA traffic operations center chief Roberto Esquivel said motorists could avoid the traffic jam in the area by taking alternate routes like Edsa.
