DOE Warns Against Use of Dual Fuel System in Vehicles

Energy Secretary Angelo T. Reyes has warned the transport sector on the ill-effects of the use of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) on an engine system that has not been yet properly tested.
Specifically, Reyes was referring to a dual fuel system which utilizes in-line blending of diesel (70 percent) and LPG (30 percent).
“The results of the tests made by the DOST (Department of Science and Technology) on this system have been proven to be very inconclusive,” Reyes said.
He pointed out that “LPG and diesel combination are not proven to be safe.” Read more
