When Michael Vick went to prison for bankrolling an illegal dog fighting operation, sports journalists and fans the world over threw dirt on his once highly successful career as an NFL quarterback. Vick did his time and eventually made his way back to the big time, but it appeared that his days as a starting quarterback were over. Not so fast. An injury to Philadelphia’s starting quarterback meant that Vick got a second chance to run an NFL offense. And he’s been excelling; perhaps enough so to become the league’s MVP. But can he sell Nissan vehicles? Not a national campaign, mind – we’re talking about a local dealer.

Woodbury Nissan, a dealership in New Jersey just outside of Philly, has hired Vick to hock new and used vehicles. The move probably doesn’t endear the dealership to dog lovers (or animal owners in general), but the hope is that Eagles fans really won’t care. Interestingly, USA Today notes that Vick isn’t getting paid for his appearance, though he is getting use of a $54,000 Armada for his troubles.

Hit the jump to watch the commercial (scripted to mimic The Office)l for yourself. Vick isn’t wearing a cowboy hat and he’s not yelling about amazing deals. Instead, the nearly two-minute spot is very well done for a local add, and it’s pretty funny, too. The dealer even takes a shot at the diminutive Versa, which may not sit well with corporate, but it gave us a chuckle.

Chrysler has unveiled a new company-owned dealership in California, called Motor Village of Los Angeles, that will sell and service the Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram Truck, Fiat and Mopar brands. A five-story glass structure will house separate salons for each of these marques. This new dealership, which marks Chrysler’s return to central LA after a 10-year absence, will be used as a test bed for new ideas that could one day filter down to the rest of the Chrysler’s dealer network. Yesterday, we told you about the grand opening of Chrysler’s swanky new Motor Village dealership in downtown Los Angeles – the first North American dealership to sell the Fiat 500. As part of its big opening-day ceremonies, Chrysler unveiled the U.S.-spec 500 ahead of its official reveal at this week’s LA Auto Show. A variety of colors and trims were on hand, and being surrounded by all of these 500s at once only makes us more eager to get some seat time in the diminutive little Italian Job.

The first round of 500s will go on sale later this year, in Sport, Pop and Lounge trim levels. A wealth of colors, interior fabrics and wheels will be available, and you can see some of what Fiat has to offer in our high-res image gallery, below.

As a response to the growing demand for its line of vehicles known for its sporty handling, Mazda Philippines opens its main branch in Pampanga, its seventh dealership in the country. This new dealership complements the satellite branch which was opened satellite branch last May in Pampanga located along the San Fernando-Gapan road.

The event was held last October 28 via a cocktails and socials. The evening’s program was led by Richard Baker, FGP President and City of San Fernando Mayor Oscar Rodriguez.  Located along MacArthur highway in Baliti, City of San Fernando, this main branch has the largest service and parts center that can service up to 12 units per day. As the main dealership branch, it will serve Mazda lovers up north who would like to have a test-drive and can be advised about Mazda cars’ financing options without going to Manila.

After opening its doors to car lovers and enthusiasts in the north, Mazda Philippines is also set to ”Zoom-Zoom” in the south by opening another branch in Batangas and in other areas of the country.

Last June 18, Toyota Shaw Ortigas (TSO) celebrated its 15th years of being in the business. Headed by chairman Severino Lim, the dealership that started with 30 employees has grown to more than 250 employees with more plans to develop its operations in every aspect.

“Our 15th year is a milestone that calls for improvement. As we celebrate our anniversary this year, we are setting the stage for our long term goal to be the number one dealership in the whole network,” according to TSO. 2008 sees TSO moving towards advancement with a long line up of projects tackling various aspects from its facilities and systems to customer relations.

Bagging six awards for service since the early 1990’s, TSO has proven its expertise for service. Now, one of TSO’s projects is the expansion of property as they’ve acquired 8,000 additional square meters. The whole dealership compound will be stretched to accommodate its customers better. From 1.6 hectares, there will be 2.4 hectares to extend the service bays, offices, showroom, and parking lot. Mazda lovers up north no longer have to drive all the way to Manila as Mazda Philippines recently opened its satellite branch in the city of San Fernando, Pampanga. The social event held last May 15 was a night of style and elegance for Pampanga’s elite. The evening’s program was ably led by the City of San Fernando’s Honorable Mayor Oscar S. Rodriquez accompanied by the Honorable Vice-Mayor Edwin Santiago.
