The Mitsubishi Strada has established a popularity among pick up buyers given its fresh styling, outstanding features and performance and exceptional riding comfort.

With the entry of the 4×2 Strada models in August 2007, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines expanded total Strada sales by 128 percent as compared to its performance in 2006, having sold a total of 2,429 units representing 27 percent share in the total pick up segment.

In addition, the Strada 4×4 renewed its dominance in the 4×4 category, capturing 52 percent of the total 4×4 pick ups. Total pickup sales in 2007 was 8,947 representing a significant 37 percent growth compared to sales in 2006.

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines also announced the availability of the 2008 Mitsubishi Strada starting this month. The Strada 3.2-liter GLS Sport 4WD models will now feature class-leading 17-inch wheels for a sportier and aggressive look, and an upgraded audio system courtesy of Alpine and JVC.

Froilan Dytianquin, MMPC’s AVP for Marketing Services, said: "This upgrade on the Strada is in line with our direction of ensuring the highest quality level and maintaining a stance of offering excellent value for money for our vehicles. We believe that the Strada is the best value pick up in the market today, especially now that we have also just maintained the prices for the 2008 models."

The Strada 4×4 is available in three variants: the 3.2-liter GLS Sport Automatic, 3.2-liter GLS Sport Manual, and the 2.5 GLS Manual. 3.2-liter models are equipped with the new 4M41 engine that produces a 160Ps at 3,800 rpm and 343 N-m of torque at 2,000 rpm. While the 2.5-liter 4D56 engine outputs136PS @ 3,500 rpm and maximum torque is 314 N-m @ 2,000 rpm. Both feature a DOHC 16-valve cylinder head, Direct Injection Diesel with Hyper Common Rail, and a high response turbocharger with front mount intercooler.

Other top rate features of the Strada 4×4 include a spacious cabin, incorporation of an RV multi-information display meter (which displays trip and fuel economy, outside temperature, compass, barometer, altimeter and clock functions), full auto climate control, power slide and rear vent window, and tire pressure monitoring system.

The 4×2 variants, Strada GLX and GL models, which share the same stance as its 4-wheel drive sibling, is also equipped with the 2.5 4D56 Direct Injection Diesel with Hyper Common Rail engine. The same spacious cabin is equipped with power windows, central locking, high contrast instrument cluster and high grade sport-type fabric seats to name a few. Major differences of the Strada GLX 4×2 over the GL 4×2 are: dual SRS airbags, 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels fitted with 205/80 R16 tires, fog lamps, and exterior chrome enhancements for side mirrors and door handles.

The 2008 Strada pick up models will be available in all Mitsubishi dealers nationwide with the following suggested retail prices: Strada 2.5 GL 4×2 M/T, P 833,000; 2.5 GLX 4×2 M/T, P908,000; 2.5 GLS 4×4 M/T, P 1,110,000; 2.5 GLS Sport 4×4 M/T, P230,000; 2.5 GLS Sport 4×4 A/T, P 1,280,000.

The Strada also comes with a three-year warranty or 100,000 kilometers whichever comes first.
