Mitsubishi recalls 2006-2008 Endeavor models over HVAC snafu

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced the recall of 19,410 2006-2008 Mitsubishi Endeavor models equipped with manual air conditioning due to a faulty heater controller signal. The controller will, in some cases, cause the air to change its direction of flow through the vents, and can even cycle the air between hot and cold. NHTSA tells us that this issue could affect defroster performance, which could lead to poor visibility and an accident.

If your vehicle is affected by this issue make sure to head to the nearest Mitsubishi dealer after December 1 for a no-cost repair. A technician will inspect your vehicle for damage and, if necessary, repair the mode door shaft. Hit the jump to read over the NHTSA press release.
