Mitsubishi Philippines Posts Highest Monthly Sales
As the auto industry chalked up a strong performance in the first four months of 2010, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp.achieved its highest monthly sales last April with 3,004 units. This volume is Mitsubishi’s highest after the Asian crisis of 1997. In addition, Mitsubishi’s April 2010 sales accounted for a significant increase of 59.4% compared to April 2009’s 1,885. From January to April, Mitsubishi said it has sold 10,188 units, for a 51% growth over the same period last year.
The Japanese-controlled carmaker attributed its growth to the aggressive financing terms banks/financial institutions gave even to entry level buyers, such as small to medium entrepreneurs and families of migrant workers.
All industry categories saw increased sales, with Mitsubishi passenger cars surging by 51.6% fueled by Lancer 1.6 and Lancer EX 2.0 models. Mitsubishi’s light commercial vehicles also increased by a 56.4% over last year’s level. Mitsubishi was able to achieve 19% market share and maintained its ranking as the 2nd best selling automotive brand in the Philippines.
A new vehicle line up also kept buyers coming in. The Montero Sport drew interest in the SUV segment. Sales of Montero Sport grew by 90% over last year’s level and continued to lead the SUV segment.

Before my preferred car was Toyota where I work before. Due to thier lousy support in financing and technical problem in diesel engines (problem in fuel system crdi supply pump even i know to do it). Finally I take Mit adventure diesel. Guaranted technical problem was improved (no headache) and I was supported in financing terms (good promo & discount most of all good customer relations). If anyone wants vehicle without worrying technical problem I recommend MIT ADVENTURE (major rival of toyota revo & isuzu hilander before).
Ocassionally I noticed the engine of our Montero Sports GLS 4/2 A/T will shutdown and restart in a split second only while Im driving. Unfortunately no traces of sensors malfuntions have been noted.
Lately (this was the worst scenario so far) I encountered an engine shutdown while driving. Obviously all the sensors monitor lighted on the dustboard, same situation when you turn on the ignition/system without starting the engine yet.
I brought the car to the safety location and made a full stop. Tried restarting the engine andn everything seems to back to normal until this writing.
Please anyone could tell me what happened and what action I should take? Btw I informed the local Mitsubishi Distributor service departent about this problem earlier but they cant find traces of probable cause when they check the affected car.
Thank You and More Power!!!
If it is not too much to ask could you write some more about this. I have been reading your blog alot over the past few days and it has earned a place in my bookmarks. Harvard Business Essentials
