Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) launches the 2008 Isuzu Passenger Van (IPV), a reliable, versatile and hardworking commercial workhorse that delivers cost-efficient fuel mileage.
The IPV combines Isuzu’s tried-and-tested 2.5-liter direct-injection diesel engine with a flexible rear portion that can be converted into virtually anything from school bus to delivery van. For 2008, Isuzu freshens up the IPV with a new-look front and rear-body design, lending corporate class to even the most menial of tasks. The rear-body windows have also been redesigned not only to enhance visibility for rear passengers but also to elegantly complement the revised exterior styling of the new IPV.Even better news for passengers inside is the 2008 IPV’s new Clarion CD1800 in-dash CD player with its MP3 capability and two speakers. At the back, occupants will appreciate the IPV’s new rear aircon extended duct, which is designed to circulate cool air more efficiently.
With the IPV’s generous dimensions—4,995 millimeters in length, 1,720 millimeters in width and 1,645 millimeters in height—enterprising owners will find more than adequate space inside not just for commercial cargo but also for family members during leisurely trips.
“The 2008 IPV benefits from Isuzu’s renowned durability, reliability, fuel-efficiency and high resale value,” points out IPC President Keiji Takeda. “This makes it ideal for entrepreneurial start-ups that are looking to recoup their investment fast and easy. In the meantime, true to its tradition of celebrating its inaugural anniversary in a socially relevant manner, Isuzu Philippines Corp. recently commemorated its 11th year of inception by giving a significant donation to the “Save the La Mesa Watershed” project of ABS-CBN Foundation. Isuzu committed to rehabilitating 11 hectares of greenery—one hectare for every year of the company’s existence—at the La Mesa Dam over the next three years. To do this, the diesel expert turned over a total of P495,000 to the Bantay Kalikasan section of the foundation. Present at the turnover ceremony were IPC President Keiji Takeda and Corporate Business Vice President Arthur Balmadrid, ABS-CBN Foundation Managing Director Gina Lopez and Bantay Kalikasan’s Operations Manager John Paul Balayan.
“Every year, instead of throwing meaningless parties, we mark our anniversary on July 31 by doing something that gives back to the community,” explained Takeda in his speech. “ What we’re doing now with the Save the La Mesa Watershed project is going to benefit the 12 million Filipinos who get their drinking water from La Mesa Dam.”
The anniversary celebration began with key people from both IPC and ABS-CBN Foundation convening at the La Mesa Eco Park very early morning. A 1.2-kilometer fun run followed shortly, capped by a weeding activity at the Shell Flower Terraces. Speeches were then delivered by IPC’s Takeda and Balmadrid, Bantay Kalikasan’s Balayan and ABS-CBN Foundation Managing Director Gina Lopez.
A tree-planting ceremony was the perfect and appropriate ending to the day’s proceedings, with Isuzu once again affirming its commitment to environment protection. At a time when most other companies are content to simply pay lip service to environmental causes, Isuzu consistently proves that action is the best way to inspire people to follow one’s noble lead.
“We at Isuzu have always subscribed to the principle that every individual and every company should strive to make the world a better place to live in,” Takeda continued in his speech. “We fail as responsible human beings if we’re unable to do so. Since Isuzu proudly calls itself ‘Your Responsible Partner’, you can rest assured we will uphold that role as long as we operate.”
No wonder Isuzu puts the same level of environment-friendliness in the vehicles that it assembles. Visit your nearest Isuzu dealership today and find out for yourself just how ecologically sensible Isuzu products are.
