Honda’s East Liberty, Ohio plant builds four millionth vehicle

In the state of Ohio auto manufacturing and Honda go hand in hand. The Japanese automaker’s two assembly plants have combined to produce over 14 million autos since 1982, and the company’s East Liberty facility just passed another milestone with auto number four million. The milestone vehicle produced was a CR-V, which is joined on the production line by the Accord Crosstour and the Element.
Honda managed to build four million vehicles at East Liberty in over 20 years through flexible manufacturing. The Honda facility has build many vehicles during its time, including the Accord, Civic and Acura CL. The plant has also ramped up production in 2010, with over 200,000 vehicles assembled to date, besting 2009 production, and has the capacity to build over 240,000 vehicles per year.
