Honda Philippines Uses Solar-Powered Lights in Sta. Rosa plant

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) recently held the official lighting of its solar-powered perimeter lighting facility in its manufacturing plant in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Forty units of solar panels are installed to power twenty perimeter lamps around the factory.
Solar-powered alternatives not only cut down electricity costs but help reduce carbon footprint as well. It is estimated that with the forty units of solar panels, Honda will be able to enjoy an annual savings of over Php 400,000 on electricity charges and be able to reduce almost 58,000 kilowatt hour per year.
As global modernization progresses, atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide steadily increase due to burning of fossil fuels. The threat of global warming has triggered the use of alternative sources of renewable energy that can be harnessed to produce electricity. One of which is the solar energy. For a tropical country like the Philippines, solar energy offers enormous potential.
Leading the ceremonial rites are Hiroshi Shimizu, President and General Manager of HCPI, Alfredo Magpayo, Senior Consultant of HCPI, Norihito Yamashita, Executive Vice President and Manufacturing Division Head, HCPI and Mario Marasigan, Energy Utilization Management Bureau Director of the Department of Energy.
Honda’s environment conservation efforts are not only evident on its products but also in its manufacturing operations. Honda’s manufacturing plant features state-of-the-art treatment facilities to ensure safe disposal of waste materials. Its wastewater treatment facility provides thorough recycling and decontamination of used water. As for solid wastes, Honda uses Universal Carbonizer facility to process solid waste into carbon without emitting carbon dioxide.

I am an avid fan of Honda things. Whatever that means!
This should be done by everybody else in this industry to redeem itself for not taking care of our nature and thinking only of what they could get from selling their stuffs.
