Team Genix and Blue Wave Marikina in media partnership with Jam 88.3, StoplightTv Studio 23 and Tsikot.com will be launching a charity car show entitled “The 1st Marikina Autoshow 08’” slated on August 30, 2008, Saturday, from 10:00 am to midnight at the Blue Wave Marikina open car park.

New-Generation Cars Debut at 2nd PIMS

AFTER the rain of confetti had settled and the smoke had cleared, the motoring public was treated to a slew of new auto models that made their Philippine debut at the 2nd Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) ongoing at the World Trade Center in Pasay City until August 24.

On opening day last Aug. 21, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo walked the main exhibit hall accompanied by the country chief executives of the 15 participating global auto brands, inspecting first-hand the fresh car models soon to hit Manila’s streets, and a number of concept vehicles straight from the future.

This year’s motor show featured some of the glitziest vehicle unveilings as member companies of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI) pulled all the stops in elaborate presentations to launch their latest offerings. Read more

PGMA Keynotes 2nd Philippine International Motor Show

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo keynoted the opening of the 2nd Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) last August 21.  The biggest car show in the country will run until the 24th at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

The 2nd PIMS is not just a motor show but a showcase of the local auto industry’s strength, agility and economic might with 15 of the global auto brands participating with the support of their parent firms that recognize the Philippines’ growing significance as a viable auto market in the region.

Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI) President Elizabeth Lee said the show is a testament to investors’ faith and confidence in the Philippines. Read more

The 2nd Philippine International Motor Show slated on August 21 to 24, 2008 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila, Pasay City comes on the heels of last year’s successful motor show event that showcased the newest breed of passenger cars, SUVs, and commercial vehicles from local auto manufacturers and distributors. dBsport and Decal Republic will be presenting Wild Wheelz @ the Hobbies, a one-of-a-kind car sound competition and show on August 16, 2008 at the Hobbies Mall, Macapagal Avenue Pasay City.

The auto event will feature competition with the following show categories: Hottest Term, Club of the Show, Party Peeps Favorite, Hottest Interior, Best Detailed, Dropped Since Day One, Loudest Engine Roar, best in Old School, Best in Paint, Best in Engine Display, Best restored, Best JDM, Best EUDM and Best USDM. Sound competition categories include Street Class, Mild Class and Wild/Wall Class.

This exciting event will be capped off by a spectacular fireworks display by L.F. Fireworks.

Car Show Highlights Tuna Festival in General Santos City

The GenSan Street Tuners group will be presenting the First Tuna Festival Car Show as part of the highlights of this year’s 10th Tuna Festival. The Car Show, which includes car show festivities, sound competitions and drag racing, wil be held on September 5 to 6, 2008 at the Gaisano Mall of Gensan and the Sinawal Circumferencial Road.

The 10th Tuna Festival, in commemoration of General Santos City’s 40th Charterhood Day unfolds from August 29 to September 7, 2008. For this year, the festival theme is: “A decade of fish-tivities and oppor-Tuna-ties”.
