Americanized Sedan Reveals Its German Roots
The 2012 Volkswagen Passat is facing a type of perfect storm of skepticism from lengthy-time fans of the brand. Volkswagen has wasted no likelihood to tell the world that the company’s newest sedan will be customized-tailored to the American industry, with styling and packaging tweaks designed to set the automobile apart from its European counterpart. Does the Passat share a related fate? When the sedan 1st debuted at this year’s Detroit Automobile Show, it came packing a host of styling cues lifted immediately from the smaller Jetta. That lead several onlookers (ourselves integrated) to conclude that in creating its new mid-sized sedan, Volkswagen had just supersized the Jetta.
The good thing is, that is not the case.
