Isuzu Launches Boondock Limited Edition of Global D-Max 4×4

Proving that its expertise lies not just in diesel-engine technology but also in 4WD off-road motoring, Isuzu Philippines Corp. is introducing a special run of the popular Global D-MAX 4×4 called the Boondock Limited Edition (LE). This is in response to the growing demand for highly capable off-road vehicles especially in remote, unpaved areas in the country—places that are difficult to reach using the usual stock SUVs and pickups. This LE variant will be available initially in the Visayas and Mindanao since these parts of the archipelago have demanding types of terrain that require four-wheel-drive vehicles.
The Global D-MAX 4×4 has been steadily gaining popularity as being off-road-capable, thanks to the push-on-the-fly four-wheel-drive control button. With this pickup, it is possible to shift from 2WD to 4WD (4H only) while the vehicle is in motion—no need to stop and lock the front hubs or shift a gear lever. All that is required is a simple push of the dash-mounted 4WD button. ‘Convenience’ is something not previously associated with off-road driving, but the Global D-MAX 4×4 has rewritten the rules of the game.
Pilipinas Shell Kicks Off ‘Libreng Sakay’ Project

Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. will kick off today the “Libreng Sakay” project which forms part of the government’s compressed natural gas (CNG) program.
“We have finalized an arrangement that will allow 11 CNG-run buses to start plying the Metro Manila route,” Department of Energy director Mario Marasigan said.
He, however, said there are still minor concerns the bus operators and Shell’s mother-daughter CNG station are currently threshing out.
“They want to ensure the commercial operation will be sustainable,” the DOE official said.
According to Marasigan, a technical working group had met several times to resolve these issues.

SCTEx to Soft-Open on March 18, 2008

The 94-kilometer Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) will have a 'soft opening' on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 and toll fees will be waived in time for the Holy Week, Malacanang announced Friday.
"On the instructions of her excellency, the President, the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway will have a trial opening on Tuesday for class 1 vehicles. Toll fees will be waived in time for the Holy Week break," Deputy presidential spokeswoman Lorelei Fajardo said in a text message.
The soft opening comes three months after it was suppose to open.
