Following the great success of the 3rd EB and Antipolo Car Blessing last February 23, the month of March had everyone looking forward to another exciting EB! This time we are expecting more new faces, longer convoy, and much more raves about our favorite truck! So don’t forget to wash your rides, put on your shades, and pray for good weather ‘coz we are hitting the road on March 9, Tagaytay-bound!

Destination: Tagaytay
Meet-up Time and Venue: 8:30am at Petron (San Pedro) South Super Highway
Departure Time to Tagaytay: 9:00am
Route: SLEX - Calamba exit - Star Tollway - Tanauan exit - Talisay - Tagaytay
Lunch: Leslie’s Tagaytay (we are K-K-B)
Activity/Agenda: Fun Run, Team Building Workshop (Tentative), and Photo Ops at Highlands (working on permit)
Fun Run / Workshop Fee: P300 (For the speaker, venue, and club fund)
Target departure at Tagaytay to Manila: 5-6PM

Honda Media Challenge Awards Night

The Awards Night for the 2007 Honda Media Challenge was held last february 15 at the Forum Hall of the Airport Casino Filipino. celebrating the longest-running media motorsport event, the Awards Night recognized the top media drivers of the three-round series.
With a total of 84 championship points, Team Top Gear Magazine composed of Carmela Ortiz, Beeboy Bargas and Paolo Subido took home this year’s top honors.
Team Business Mirror composed of Andy Sevilla, Randy Cabañgon and Dino Datu finished in second place with 81 points. On the other hand, third place was won by Team Auto Review composed of Ron de los Reyes, Kit Joaquin and Alvin Ng with 72 points.
A Tsikoteer’s Account: Tsikot Autofest - A Success

My wife and I were able to attend the Tsikot.com AutoFest last night at the Gate Arcade, along Ortigas Avenue in Taytay, Rizal. About 14 fully dressed up, stunning, and head turners cars participated in the car show, which started from 9:00 A.M. I drooled watching these gorgeous cars and amazed at the owners for their passions of tinkering and modifying their cars.
At about 5 PM, Tsikoteers and guests started to arrive for the Grand EB and Bikini Show. But, I suspected that most of them were there not for the GEB but for the bikini show. Ha ha ha . . . Unfortunately, I was very sleepy and couldn’t wait for these bikini clad ladies and gone home at 9:30 P.M. I didn’t think these bikini babes could wake me up with their show. Even I missed the bikini babes, I enjoyed my stay watching the car shows, meeting some tsikoteers, and drinking free beers.

The BMW Car Club of the Philippines (BMWCCP) is proud to announce another exciting fun run! It will be a Fun Run to Clark Free Port (formerly known as Clark Airbase), Pampanga on March 2, 2008, Sunday.
This should be a great drive for those who are new to the club as we’ll mostly be doing straight highway runs towards Clark.

CAMPI: Automotive Sales Surged 17% in January 2008

The local automotive industry sold a total of 8,808 units in January, up 17 percent year-on-year from 7,520 units.
“It is a good showing for the industry to jump-start the year with a strong growth. We forecast sales to continue to be strong in the coming months,” said Elizabeth Lee, president of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc., in a report.
Official data from Campi showed that passenger car sales grew 28.5 percent last month on year those of while commercial vehicles climbed 12 percent.
BCDA Gears Up for April SCTEx Opening

CLARK FREE PORT—Preparations are under way for the opening of the 93.77-kilometer Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx) as workers are about to wind up construction of the road project.
Officials of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) that oversees the construction of the expressway said work is already in the “punch listing” or final stages, adding that the project would be completed in time for the scheduled inauguration at the end of April.
